Ellenberger is a mechanical parts manufacturing company in Kaiserslautern. One of their biggest challenges is to quickly process a large number of customer orders with different lot sizes based on existing capacities and available resources. Until now, the documentation and processing of customer and manufacturing orders was mainly done on paper, which led to delays and, in the worst case, to the loss of data.
The goal of the project was to map manufacturing islands and their machines and tools as Digital Twins and thus enable semi-automatic resource-based feasibility checks based on real-time production data. Information modeling with Digital Twins is done via the implementation of the standardized asset administration shell provided by BaSyx. The business logic is mapped via the ERP system of Odion.
