"Software Engineering for Embedded Systems"

Pursue a Degree in "Software Engineering for Embedded Systems" while Continuing to Work

Since the winter semester 2008/2009, the Distance and International Studies Center (DISC) of the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau has been offering a career-compatible English-language distance studies program "Software Engineering for Embedded Systems" in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE).

The four-semester continuing education program, which concludes with a master degree awarded by RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, is intended for engineers with at least two years of professional experience who want to deepen their knowledge or get a new orientation.

The contents of the program are taught in English via distance studies, and the theoretical and methodological knowledge is applied in practice during two on-site phases at the software engineering laboratory of Fraunhofer IESE.

This course of studies has been accredited by the Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN).
In mid-2009, the Fraunhofer Academy has included it in its portfolio "First-rate continuing education programs".

The tuition fees are 2490 euros plus a social contribution of 140 euros per semester and a one-off fee of 720 euros for the Master's thesis. Applications are possible from mid-May to mid-August of each year, also online via https://rptu.de/en/studies/prior-to-studies.
