The DI-DERAMSys project is developing an open-source exploration framework for DRAM memory systems based on the DRAMSys simulator, DRAMPower and gem5, which enables a largely automated configuration of a DRAM subsystem. The DRAMSys simulation tool will be further evolved to include new memory technologies and standards such as CXL, UCIe, HBM4 and DDR6. A first, already existing version of DRAMPower for estimating the power consumption of DRAM memories will be further developed to improve the execution speed and accuracy of the modeling of energy consumption. The project follows a consistent application of open-source principles to encourage collaboration with other developers and companies. The developed framework will be released under the BSD-3 license. In addition, the integration of DRAMPower into the open-source processor simulator gem5 will be further improved.
